- Dice a quarter of a white onion, a quarter of a bell pepper, one green onion, and four garlic cloves
- Cook one pound of ground beef on high heat, breaking it down into small crumbles. Strain the fat
- Reduce heat to medium and add one pound of mild Italian sausage. Once mostly cooked, add the chopped white onions and bell peppers, cooking until the onions are translucent
- Add the minced garlic and cook for one minute. Season with salt and pepper. Pour in approximately 36 ounces of pasta sauce and add sugar as needed for balance. Let this simmer on low for 30–45 minutes
- Add a 16-ounce pack of spaghetti to a pot of salted boiling water. Cook until al dente
- Combine sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese, and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 375°F
- Spread a layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch casserole dish and sprinkle with grated Parmesan
- Add all the cooked spaghetti in a single even layer
- Spread the cheese sauce mixture evenly over the pasta
- Top with the remaining meat sauce
- Cover the top with 16 ounces of grated mozzarella and dried parsley
- Bake for 30–45 minutes at 375f.
